Phoenix Swim Academy brings over 30 years of experience working with individuals with special needs. Our highly trained instructors specialize in teaching children and adults with sensory challenges, autism, physical disabilities, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and a variety of developmental or cognitive conditions. We pride ourselves on creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every swimmer can build confidence, learn life-saving skills, and achieve their full potential.

April Mate, Co-Founder of Phoenix Swim Academy, has been working with special needs students since 1991, when she was in 3rd grade. Since 1996, she has been teaching lessons to special needs students both privately and through Long Beach Community Hospital. She brings this lifelong passion to the academy, ensuring that all instructors share the same compassion, care, experience, and knowledge to teach effectively.

With tailored techniques and compassionate guidance, we adapt to each swimmer’s unique needs to ensure a positive and empowering experience. We also have a team member fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) to better serve the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Highly recommended by local occupational therapists, speech therapists, and regional centers, we are a trusted choice for specialized swim instruction.

MENIFEE LOCATION

OUR MENIFEE LOCATION IS LOCATED AT A PRIVATE RESIDENCE THAT IS LICENSED BY THE CITY OF MENIFEE. THE POOL IS HEATED TO 90 DEGREES & SALTWATER

OUR POOL IS LOCATED INSIDE A LARGE GREENHOUSE THAT KEEPS IT COOL IN THE SUMMER & WARM IN THE WINTER MONTHS. WE HAVE A PRIVATE CLIENT BATHROOM AS WELL.

OUR MENIFEE LOCATION ALSO HAS GOATS & CHICKENS THAT YOU CAN PET & FEED.

YORBA LOCATION

OUR YORBA LINDA LOCATION IS LOCATED ON THE SAME PROPERTY AS THE LONG-STANDING HILLSBOROUGH PRESCHOOL. THE POOL IS HEATED TO 90 DEGREES & WE USE UV FILTRATION FOR CLEANER, HEALTHIER, & CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER.

OUR POOL, THOUGH OUTDOORS, HAS PATIO HEATERS ON DECK. THE DECK ALSO HAS SHELTER FOR OBSERVERS & THE POOL IN THE WINTER & SHADE FOR BOTH SWIMMERS & OBSERVERS.
